Lately, we've also been discussing either re-painting our front door or replacing it with a wooden or wooden-looking door. I'm a big fan of 1920's Arts and Crafts architecture and would love to have a door that evokes that era but our house is not in a Craftsman style so I'm afraid it wouldn't look right. The doors that I'm drawn to usually look like this.

Don't they just look so warm and welcoming? That second Dutch door in particular is so beautiful with the art glass and shelf. Depending on the price of the door and installation we may have to wait to get it. The other option is to just paint it a different color. Right now it's a bright red with a brass handle and brass knocker. It's nice but it doesn't look quite right with our new paint color. We saw a green house with a door painted in a terra cotta color and it looked really nice. I think if we did something similar and got a big round black-brown knocker and handle it would look pretty. Maybe we'll just do that while we save for the door that we really want.
Hopefully, I'll be able to post pictures of the house soon. We'll be going to Gloucester on Wednesday for a week (yaaaay!) so I'm really hoping it's all done before then. I'll keep you posted!
